As a Christian, I believe in the profound value of human life and that protecting all forms of creation is a matter of worship and obedience. Therefore, I feel compelled to fight for the elimination of weapons with such vast powers of indiscriminate destruction. I wish that all people of faith would call on the US government to lead the way toward a world free from nuclear weapons.

Lynne Hybels is an advocate for global engagement at Willow Creek Community Church in South Barrington, Illinois.  She is the author of Nice Girls Don't Change the World and helped produce Hope and Action, a DVD and participant guide that introduces churches and small groups to first steps in addressing the HIV/AIDS pandemic. Hybels is married and has two adult children.
