Max M. Kampelman is an American lawyer and diplomat. Under President Ronald Reagan, he served as the Head of the United States Delegation to the Negotiations with the Soviet Union on Nuclear and Space Arms in Geneva. In recent years, he has been outspoken in expressing the view that "Reagan was right" and that the elimination of nuclear weapons should be our highest priority.

President Bill Clinton awarded Ambassador Kampelman the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian award in the nation, and President Ronald Reagan awarded him the Presidential Citizens Medal. Ambassador Kampelman received his J.D. in law from New York University and his Ph.D. in political science from the University of Minnesota, where he taught from 1946 to 1948.
