Prime Minister Malcolm Fraser

Prime Minister Malcolm Fraser served as Australia’s 22nd Prime Minister, from 1975 to 1983, before which he was Army Minister (1966-68), Minister for Education and Science (1968-69, 1971-72), and Minister for Defence (1969-71). After his service as Prime Minister, Prime Minister Fraser was a fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, and in 1987 founded CARE Australia, serving as president of the international network of humanitarian aid organizations until 2002. He was also President of Care International from 1990 to 1995, and Vice President until 1999. In 2000, Prime Minister Fraser was awarded Australia’s Human Rights Medal, one of many honors he has received.
