Rt. Hon. Baronness Shirley Williams
Rt. Hon. Baroness Shirley Williams is a Member of the House of Lords, where she was Leader of the Liberal Democrats from 2001 to 2004 and is heavily involved in the current debate over how to reform the upper house. She began her career as a journalist for The Daily Mirror and Financial Times and in 1960 became Secretary of the Fabien Society. Earlier in her career, Lady Williams was a Member of the House of Commons and served as a Labour cabinet minister of Education and Science. She is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations International and serves on several other boards, including the Moscow School of Political Studies and the International Crisis Group.
