Roland Lajoie

Major General (Ret.) Roland Lajoie is the Chairman of the United States-Russia Joint Commission on POW-MIAs. Major General Lajoie also served as Deputy Assistant to the Secretary of Defense for Cooperative Threat Reduction (CTR), where he was the Program Manager for CTR and responsible for implementation of the Nunn-Lugar initiative to assist Russia in securing its nuclear materials. During his 35 years of military service, Major General Lajoie served, among many other positions, as First Director of the U.S. On-Site Inspection Agency, U.S. Defense Attaché in Paris and in Moscow, and Associate Deputy Director for Operations/Military Affairs at the Central Intelligence Agency, in which capacity he created and directed the Office of Military Affairs.
