to get involved? We've got you covered!
Nuclear weapons aren’t safe. And it’s time our leaders take notice. On August 6th, 2016, we’re standing up to demand action.
Every day, the existence of nuclear weapons threatens our way of life. They were designed to destroy entire cities, kill innocent civilians and wreak irreversible damage on our planet. As long as nuclear weapons exist, it is inevitable that they will one day be used.
But we can change that reality. Through diplomacy, we can reduce the number of nuclear weapons in the world and eventually eliminate them. But it won’t happen unless we demand it.
On August 6, 2016 — on the 71st anniversary of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima — citizens around the world are mobilizing to demand that our leaders put our safety first by leading us on a path toward the elimination of nuclear weapons. We’re calling on people to bike through their cities, roughly tracing the edge of the bomb blast at Hiroshima to symbolize what a “small” nuclear blast would look like in their communities and demonstrate what we stand to lose.
We have more than 25 flagship Bike Around the Bomb events taking place around the world. If you live near one of the flagship events listed below, please join!
